PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Bailey Vega concentrates his practice in the areas of tax planning, estate planning, and corporate transactions. He advises individuals, families, fiduciaries, and closely held businesses on a broad range of tax, estate planning, and business succession matters, with a particular emphasis on developing tax-efficient strategies for the preservation, management, and transfer of wealth.

Mr. Vega counsels clients in the design and implementation of comprehensive estate plans, including complex wills and trusts, generation-skipping transfer tax planning, irrevocable life insurance trusts, grantor trusts, charitable planning strategies, and other advanced estate planning techniques.  He also advises clients on business succession planning and the integration of closely held business interests into broader estate and tax planning objectives.

In his corporate practice, Mr. Vega represents businesses, owners, and investors in a wide range of transactional matters.  His experience includes advising clients on the formation and governance of corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships, as well as entity restructurings, mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic business transactions.

Mr. Vega graduated from University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law with an emphasis in tax and business law.  He then received a master of laws in taxation (LL.M.) from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law with an emphasis in corporate taxation. During his time at Northwestern, he served as a staff member on the American Bar Association’s The Tax Lawyer.

Also while in law school, Mr. Vega was a staff member of the Memphis Law Review, President of the Business and Tax Law Society, and the Site Coordinator for the VITA Income Tax Clinic. He has also served as a judicial intern for Judge Jon P. McCalla in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee as well as a judicial extern for Chief Judge David S. Kennedy in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Tennessee.
