On October 3, 2015, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s (CFPB) mortgage disclosure rule, designed to simplify consumer purchases of residential real estate, was enacted. The rule, combining certain RESPA and Truth-in-Lending (TILA) disclosures, aims to provide greater transparency and service to homebuyers and to those involved in sales of single family homes. ALTA created best practices to assist members in engaging in the policies and procedures used by the industry to protect consumers. In order to provide a positive and seamless transition to the new regulations, mortgage lenders, title companies, lawyers and escrow partners have focused rigorously on building their systems and processes and providing training to comply with the new rules.
This certification process required a significant amount of time and attention and covered various aspects of the practice, including computer systems, software, assessment procedures, training and physical processes. After months of implementation, Glankler Brown attorneys are proud to serve clients as CFPB/ TRID (TILA-Respa Integrated Disclosure) Ready attorneys.
Our real estate and secured lending attorneys have extensive knowledge and experience on a broad range of real estate and residential and commercial lending issues, and regularly represent clients on real estate acquisitions and sales, financing and secured lending, construction, leasing, zoning and land use, regulatory matters including environmental issues, and the exercise of rights and remedies such as receiverships and foreclosures.
We also act as agents or approved attorneys for a number of major title companies, including First American Title Insurance Company, Chicago Title Insurance Company, Fidelity National Title Insurance Company and Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company.
